Clackmannanshire Council provides a range of family support services across the Wee County. It does this in partnership with other organisations and service providers in a coordinated fashion.
There are two Family Centres covering Clackmannanshire, Alloa Family Centre is run by the Early Years Service who are part of Social Services and the Tullibody Family Centre is run by Action For Children.
The Early Years service is part of Child Care and works to the same standards set down in the Children's Charter, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, Customer Charter, Carers' Charter and the Scottish Government's document National Standards for Community Engagement.
If you would like to comment on the services you receive either good or bad that is provided directly by the Early Years Service or purchased by them from voluntary/third sector organisations. You can do this by referring to the Comments and Complaints page.
Information on how you can be supported to do this can be found on our Children's Rights page.
Our Family Centres provide an essential service to families during times of vulnerability.
We provide a wide range of experiences for children and parents through group work, outreach and on an individual basis.
Sessional day care placements are available. This service is used by many families who need extra support or guidance over a limited period of time.
Families can be referred by their Health Visitor, Social Worker or any other professional involved with the family.
Support will be offered depending on individual circumstances and will be discussed and allocated at our monthly admissions group.
The admissions group is chaired by the Family Centre management team and attended by a multi-disciplinary team including colleagues from Social Services, Psychological Services as well as Action for Children.
Within the centres we aim to provide high quality child care and education and follow the principles of Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC).
We follow the Scottish Government's Pre-Birth to three: Positive outcomes for Scotland's children and families national guidance and Curriculum for Excellence: Supporting the early level .
The management team or an early years and family worker can offer this on request. We can listen, or talk through problems with you, or refer you to other people who can help.
Our services are monitored by Care Inspectorate which, by law, has to inspect the centres every year so that high quality standards are maintained.
