Tenant Participation

Tenant Participation

Definition

Tenant participation is about tenants taking part in decision making processes and influencing decisions about

  • Housing policies,
  • Housing conditions,
  • Housing and related services.

It is a two way process which involves the sharing of information, ideas and power. Its aim is to improve the standard of housing conditions and services.

Tenant Participation Strategy 2014 - 2017

This is the fourth Tenant Participation Strategy completed in joint working with Paragon Housing Association.

Sections 1 to 7 of the document set out what we are planning to do in cooperation with our tenants, to enable and support tenant participation over the next three years.

Efforts were made in the preparation of the Strategy to take account of the views of tenants, elected members, staff, partners and interested individuals.

Customer Satisfaction

As part of Clackmannanshire Council's housing service ongoing commitment in seeking the views of our tenants, waiting list applicants and Elected members we have commissioned BMG Research (BMG) to carry out satisfaction survey(s). We are doing this in conjunction with Stirling Council, Forth and Rural Stirling Housing Associations.

The overall objective of the survey is to find out how satisfied tenants are with Clackmannanshire Council as a landlord. We will then compare these results with other landlords taking part in the survey.
