Do you want to improve your English?

We provide free English classes for non-native speakers to further their skills for living and working in Scotland covering things like

  • learning English for everyday life,
  • help with reading and writing in English,
  • helping learners who have difficulty forming words, shapes, letters, letter and word sounds and numbers,
  • help with job searching, CVs, application forms, interview techniques.

Classes are held in small, friendly groups for 2 hours a week with support from tutors and volunteers.

How to join a class

It is important to join the right class for your level.

Please come to a registration session on a Monday evening where the tutor will discuss the best class for you.

Learners can also join Clackmannanshire Learners International(CLI). This group runs regular social events to help learners and other non-native speakers mix with local people. They have regular coffee and conversation clubs, barbeques and trips to places of interest.
