Klacksun is the Clackmannanshire Service Users Network. The network spans across all statutory mental health services, voluntary organisations and groups in Clackmannanshire.
There are plenty of opportunities for people to get involved in a way they feel comfortable.
The network meets on a monthly basis to discuss local, regional and national issues and work in partnership to develop and improve services.
Others again may be involved individually, or in groups, in highlighting issues of concern. We have a newsletter and are currently developing a website and information booklet, so if you have any computer or admin skills you could get involved in that way. Everyone's contribution can be recognised.
The Mental Health Action Group provides an opportunity for service users to contribute to local developments and priorities.
Our User Involvement Worker is employed to support the network and to promote user involvement throughout the Integrated Mental Health Service and the wider community.
Klacksun works in partnership with Clackmannanshire Council and local NHS services. Through this relationship, we provide a forum for people with mental health problems to consider, review and develop principles and practices in relation to these services.
The role of the network is to inform and represent them, to highlight issues which concern people who use mental health services and to respond to requests for comment on mental health issues from a service users' perspective.
Klacksun is open to any adult with a mental health problem in Clackmannanshire.
