Our Education Community Learning and Development team is currently recruiting volunteers to support work in the following areas:

Youth Mentors

In your role as a volunteer mentor you will support young people aged 16-19 years. This will include working with them on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve their goals and aspirations for the future.

This may involve accompanying young people to appointments, spending leisure time with them or taking them to the local café for a catch up.

Adult Literacy

Supporting our adult literacy classes. You will work with staff to support our learners with reading, writing, numbers and form filling.

English for Speakers of Other Languages

Supporting local adults to develop their English skills.  You will work with staff to support learners with the English language and this will help them with future learning, employment and integration into the wider community.

Youth Work

We are looking for volunteers to support young people in youth groups, creative activities and outdoor activities.

Induction and training

As a volunteer you will be offered the opportunity to take part in our 6 week induction programme scheduled for 24 October to 28 November, 7-9pm at the Bowmar Centre as well as the opportunity to take part in our wider training programmes. 

Additionally, you will receive regular one-to-one support and will also have the opportunity to join in peer support activities.
