Render and Roof Upgrading

Render and Roof Upgrading

Clackmannanshire Council are currently carrying out necessary upgrading and replacement of roof coverings and render coatings to properties throughout the county.

The current four year term contract will see works carried out to approximately 400 council owned properties. At present, the age of properties included within the current programme range in build years from 1900 to 1974.

Properties have been identified as requiring upgrades through cyclical maintenance inspections and stock condition surveys. The same methods have been employed in order to identify further properties to be included in future works.

The works comprise the design and upgrading of roof and/or render to properties and include:

  • The replacement of flat/pitched roof coverings, associated joinery work and rainwater goods
  • Chimney repairs
  • External wall render upgrade with rainwater goods replaced where required
  • Fitting of Rain Water Leaf Guards to minimise future maintenance

Properties will remain in occupation whilst works proceed. Disturbance will be kept to a minimum with the utmost care taken to ensure the safety of the occupants, the public and the property. All operatives are expected to follow Clackmannanshire Councils Customer Care Code at all times.

Wall and Roof fabric upgrade is a key challenge for the council over the short and medium term to ensure the housing stock sustains it's SHQS compliance.
