Service Update

As from Monday the 17th August 2020 our repair centre will recommence a full repair service.

Due to the unprecedented times we have all experienced over the past few months, we have up until now been undertaking essential emergency repairs and external repairs only, we have therefore a backlog of non emergency repairs to schedule.

If your repair is non urgent we would encourage you to complete the online form or email using the contact details at the bottom of this page, by reporting your non-urgent repair online you are helping our call centre staff to speak with those persons who require an emergency repair to be undertaken.

If you have an emergency repair then please call using the telephone number at the bottom of this page and we will endeavour to carry out the repair within the 8 hour timescale.

Your non urgent repairs will be scheduled at our earliest available appointment, however please be aware that due to the large backlog this appointment may be some weeks from the time you report the issue.

Please note all our trade operatives will have the necessary personal protective equipment and will work to COVID 19 safe methods of working. The level of PPE required to be worn and the method of working will be appropriate and proportionate to the repair being undertaken.

If you or any member of your household are classed as vulnerable or you have any Covid related symptoms please advise staff at the time of reporting the repair either by phone (emergency repairs) or note it on the online form or email (non emergency repairs).

Our staff are dedicated to continue to provide an excellent repair service to our customers.

We would appreciate your continued patience and understanding during these times and continue to treat our staff in a courteous manner.

Our repair centre aims to enhance customer satisfaction by having repairs carried out, where possible, in a single visit.

Report a repair

Council tenants who want to report a repair should

  • Call Housing Repairs team on 01259 452000
  • email: repairs@clacks.gov.uk
    • Please provide your name and address and details of your repair. Your email will be acknowledged within 2 hours, during normal working hours.
    • Please do not use the email service to request an emergency repair.

If visiting your local office, staff can assist you in contacting the Repair Centre if required.

You can use the Repair Centre to

  • Report repairs
  • Re-arrange your gas service
  • Make an appointment for a repair to be carried on a day/time to suit you
  • Get expert advice on repairs, and chase up any repairs outstanding on your home
  • Notify any issues you may have about repairs

Appointments service

You can now call our repairs team to make an appointment for a repair to be carried out on a day that suits you. There are 3 appointment categories:

  • Morning
    • between 8.00am and 12.00pm
  • Afternoon
    • between 12.30pm and 4.00pm
  • School run
    • between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm
Repair categories for appointments

Appointments will be made depending on the category of your repair. There are 3 repair categories:

  • Emergency
    • Appointment within 8 hours, or
    • a next day appointment
  • Urgent
    • Appointment within 5 working days
  • Routine
    • Appointment within 28 working days
Exceptions

In some instances you may not be given an appointment when you phone.

Examples may include:

  • Work to be carried out does not need access to your home.
  • A larger repair that will involve work by more than one trade.
  • An inspection is needed to determine work needed.
