Clackmannanshire Sports Development provides an excellent environment for children of all ages and abilities to learn to play Basketball. The classes are taught by experienced staff and are progressively structured to allow children to advance and improve at their own rate.
Young Basketballers: These sessions cater for ages 8-12 and offers fun games and drills on how to dribble, pass and shoot. It also provides more in-depth knowledge of the game.
Youth Progression: These sessions cater for ages 13-18 and are suitable for players who want to develop their basketball skills further such as tactics for defence and offence.
Each year we organise a P4 School Basketball League during February and March. We also hold a P6 Basketball Festival in October which takes place after school at Alloa Academy.
There is also a Secondary Schools Basketball Competition and further details can be obtained from our Active Schools Co-ordinators and our Calendar of Events.
As you develop, your attention may turn to thinking about opportunities within the sport of basketball. While playing basketball is a preferred choice, there are also plenty of other opportunities to stay involved in the sport.
Details of courses can be found at the Basketball Scotland website.
