Beating the Blues is an easy to use self-help computer program to assist with the symptoms of anxiety and depression.
It consists of 8 weekly sessions, each being approximately 1 hour long. The sessions are completed on an individual basis and, following referral, you will be given a link to access the course from your computer at home. For those without a home computer, arrangements will be made for you to access a computer located in either Marshill House, Alloa or at the Alva Community Access Point (CAP). No computer skills are required for this programme.
There is no charge for this service.
The program is recommended by NICEguidelines as an option of treatment for those with depression. It uses cognitive-behaviour therapy and there is good evidence of its effectiveness.
The service can be accessed by referral from a GP or mental health professional.
